Crossing Our Canal

Hansen, Allen & Luce is the engineer for the Welby Jacob Canal. The canal right-of-way extends 16.5 feet uphill and 33 feet downhill from the canal centerline. Anyone desiring to encroach inside these limits with a crossing, utility, turnout, or other structure, or to otherwise affect the canal facilities, must obtain an encroachment agreement prior to construction. The application form and standard drawings are available below.

The application must be submitted with sufficient time to review the drawings, execute the agreement, and construct the facilities before April so as not to interfere with the delivery of water. For assistance call Tyler Ashby at 801-566-5599.
